Deliveries & Returns
A few of the products shown on our web site are held in stock at our store in the country, but many are purchased to order. Stock permitting, we will normally deliver your order within 14 days, although it may take up to 28 days. If the item is unavailable, or out of stock, you will be notified by e-mail, or by telephone, and we will let you know when we expect it to arrive. If you order more than one item, they may arrive separately.
We do not offer a 48 hour delivery service, but if you need the items by a special date, please mention this in your comments when you order and we will attempt to arrange delivery in time.
The painted furniture, some of the sculptural works and the Limoges porcelain,which are all finished by hand do take longer and are made to order. Delivery on these items can be up to 6 weeks. We hope that you will understand this and that you may find that what we are offering provides a useful service.
Any goods which cannot be sent by ordinary post and which cannot be collected by the customer will be delivered through the services of specialist packers. All associate costs of packing, insurance and freight for such delivery shall be borne by the customer. The shopping basket will add shipping charges on this basis as you buy. The charge for the goods with and without delivery will be shown in your shopping cart. The minimum delivery charge is £4.95.
We use reputable carriers such as Royal Mail and Parcel Force. If you experience any aspect of your delivery service that you have not been happy with, then please let us know. Please understand that no delivery service is infallible and estimated deliveries are, therefore, not guaranteed.
Although Meltons shall endeavour to meet a customer's delivery requirements there shall be no obligation to delivery goods by any specified date. Collection and delivery dates and times quoted by Meltons are given in good faith but are estimates only. Meltons shall not become liable to compensate a customer for late or non-delivery of goods.
You will be responsible for retrieving undelivered parcels. Please use an alternative delivery address, if you are out all day, e.g. work.
Delivery costs and services outside the UK are available on application. All associated costs of packing, insurance and freight for such delivery shall be borne by the customer. You will be liable for all duties and levies payable at any foreign port as a result of delivery of goods outside the UK. You shall not be entitled to cancel your order on the basis of unforeseen duties or levies.
Claims for damaged or faulty goods will be considered if Meltons is notified, either by e-mail or post detailing the problem, within 3 working days following delivery.
Damaged of faulty goods must be returned to Meltons before replacement(s) can be supplied. They should be returned to us within 7 days of receipt for an exchange, or refund.
You will receive our prompt attention and be notified prior to the refund to your chosen payment card.
We cannot be held responsible for returned goods being lost in transit without proof of postage and recommend that you use recorded delivery. Always retain proof of postage.
Note that we will only refund the return postage costs if the item is faulty or damaged, or the delivery is incorrect. In all other cases the goods are returned to Meltons at your own expense.
We will notify you to confirm that your return has been processed.
